Description: I rolled out of bed this morning in a really bad mood, so I picked up my guitar and laid this R&B-tinged Robert Johnson cover down on the first take. I don't know if I felt better or worse after doing this. Not much to look at here, but my favorite take of the couple of times I ran through this old Robert Johnson tune. By the way, I play in open G tuning, that's how I was able to rub my eyes with my left hand in the middle of the song without stopping playing. Open G tuning is an excellent tuning for people whose eyes itch in the morning or when they play the blues. |

yowereHannaH ::: Favorites Ha, this is pretty tight. Hey, I know almost no blues artists but I've been digging the sound for a long time. Think you can recommend me some good stuff. I can by this song you got taste. 07-10-15 01:31:31 __________________________________________________
GuitaristInProgress ::: Favorites Robert Johnson is a must, he's the delta blues OG, and he only recorded 29 songs in his entire career so there's not a lot to track down. The album "The Swarthmore Concert" by Lightin' Hopkins was a huge influence on me. "Hard Again" by Muddy Waters is harder-edged electric blues but it's pretty great. I also really like Blind Blake, although I guess he's more ragtime than blues. And, of course, whatever John Lee Hooker you can get your hands on. 07-10-15 15:09:02 __________________________________________________
adminmsn548 ::: Favorites Hi I love Robert Johnson ! could you send me the chords ??? 07-10-12 14:15:35 __________________________________________________
GuitaristInProgress ::: Favorites Well, my version is not the best to learn from since I don't really play clean chords, and tend to push the chord changes around & play them a little earlier or later than I should sometimes, but here's the basic changes as I do them here: [G] Well I'm a drunken hearted man [C] My life [G] seem so misery Well I'm a [C]drunken hearted man, my life seems[g] so misery [D] If I could change my way of living [C] It would mean so [G]much to me [G] [D] etc. 07-10-12 15:04:52 __________________________________________________
