bASICeXPOSURE ::: Favorites Nice work, lots of historical family heritage... 07-08-26 15:58:50 _____________________________________________________
disciple604 ::: Favorites ya I did more research on it and you'll get arrested for going in there. you can walk around outside....i think. but if you're caught inside then you go straight to jail, no court dates or anything. 07-08-07 20:53:05 _____________________________________________________
thebigleb0wski ::: Favorites holy cow. I got really lucky then. 07-08-09 20:18:29 _____________________________________________________
disciple604 ::: Favorites When I tried to go up there once I nearly got arrested...why didn't you? I know a few people that almost got arrested just for goin up there. You just walked in with no worries. 07-07-30 22:16:22 _____________________________________________________
thebigleb0wski ::: Favorites Really? You almost got arrested? Wow. We got really lucky then. We saw some people drive up to a building and look at us funny, they weren't cops or anything. That 's weird that you almost got arrested and we didn't even see a cop. 07-07-31 12:39:06 _____________________________________________________
disciple604 ::: Favorites Ya it was weird. Some people I've talked to have had permits to go up there, but it's not issued to just anyone. I thought maybe you had a permit since your mom worked there. 07-07-31 16:54:23 _____________________________________________________
thebigleb0wski ::: Favorites No, I didn't have any permits. My Dad and Grandpa both worked there also. 07-08-01 14:22:28 _____________________________________________________
ProgEars2006 ::: Favorites Very interesting, my Dad worked there in the 70s and I remember the campus well. It was interesting to see you all go into one of the 80s buildings. I remember before they built those. There was a giant overgrown, empty cracking basin where a pool once was when it was the SBA in the 20s (I even found a pic of it back then online, amazing!) and a fountain in front of the Tower building. Do you have any more pics? Drop me a line if so. 07-07-20 22:42:47 _____________________________________________________
thebigleb0wski ::: Favorites Yeah, I have some more pics. I have one of the layout of Menninger which I tried to work into the movie but couldn't find a place for it. Thanks for commenting on my video, I appreciate it. 07-07-21 00:48:40 _____________________________________________________
GrandmaTucker ::: Favorites I wanted to cry, you know it was such a wonderful time in our lives, I think I speak for both your parents and Irv. For me, I grew up there, they let me grow up. The other things I did in the city grew out my work there. Thanks so much for making such a wonderful movie. Grandma Betty 07-07-15 15:13:58 _____________________________________________________
GrandmaTucker ::: Favorites Graham, It was a sad and beautiful story about loss. The next time you are here, you and I can go to the Menninger Archives at the Kansas State Historical Museum and see some of the footage of the glorious days that represented the best times at Menninger. Love, Grandpa Irv 07-07-15 15:13:38 _____________________________________________________
GrandmaTucker ::: Favorites It was a fine production. It brought tears to my eyes. Grandma Tucker 07-07-15 15:09:18 _____________________________________________________
fakantkc42 ::: Favorites Nice tone. I really like the new Fat Cat Prods. I also liked how you intermixed video and text. For someone who wasn't associated with M, the doc shows me a once shining institution now inhabitated by ghosts. The butterfly puzzle is a wonderful metaphor; good call to include it. One critique: for a doc perhaps too reverential. Hopefully other perspectives on Menninger will be posted and then you might make a video with a 360 view of what M meant to Topeka, people who were treated there, etc. 07-06-29 08:15:31 _____________________________________________________
ZEWYR ::: Favorites sacred ground-now its like my own private roman forum as I vespa ride this property with ancient ghosts and memories,go sledding on the hill and kite flying in the field with my 9 year old daughter and bocce ball with friends by the tower building- yeh..telephone bones..the square is mine! the dude shall abide .Palmes d'oro 07-06-29 04:16:44 _____________________________________________________
ZEWYR ::: Favorites Graham... I saw this and it was outstanding. I san not believe that your mom's room was open!! When I saw the telephones they looked like bones!! I realy liked the butterfly puzzle! It was beutiful! I realy liked the show!!! It made me all calm!! Sarah Shapiro 07-06-29 00:52:59 _____________________________________________________
silversage444 ::: Favorites Great video. I thought the fade from the photo of the Tower Bldg. of the late 70's to today was very moving, as was the music. I wonderful testimony to what was. Neil's memory is lousy 07-06-28 21:22:46 _____________________________________________________
ZEWYR ::: Favorites Graham...we just watched and we are in awe. Nice work. I felt a heavy heart within me....I was watching intensely to see where it would go. I was amazed you found your Mom's studio open....and Merrit finding a moth (butterfly puzzle)....very mystical.....the phone scenes were surreal...still taking it all in. Thank you so much for doing this. Its a keeper! Love Babs, et al 07-06-28 15:25:56 _____________________________________________________ |
